Ankit Patel, MD, is a practicing obstetric/gynecologic surgeon with 8 years of operative experience who is currently employed at Baxter Healthcare in Medical Affairs. After his residency at the University of Central Florida College of Medicine, he was an attending physician who mentored resident physicians and was heavily involved in research in gynecologic oncology. Dr. Patel takes great pride in education and is actively involved in the medical mission of the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG). Dr. Patel has also conducted research on coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) and its effects on pregnancy, along with sentinel lymph node mapping in gynecologic-oncology surgical cases.

Dr. Patel has proficient experience with the Da Vinci robotic surgical system. He has performed hundreds of robotic adhesiolysis surgeries. He was a physician champion at the Florida Perinatal Quality Collaborative (FPQC) where his team successfully decreased the rate of cesarean sections in the region, improving maternal mortality.

He has been involved with hundreds of cases and witnessed firsthand the painful experience of patients suffering from severe adhesions. He believes that is imperative for surgeons to act now to help reduce the incidence of adhesions.
