Gynecologic Surgeon
Dr. Mona Orady is currently the Director of the Orady Women’s Clinic for Advanced Gynecology and Minimally Invasive Surgery providing specialized Gynecologic Surgery services in Northern California. She also served as Director of Robotic Surgery Services at St. Francis Memorial Hospital in San Francisco, California, where she specializes in gynecologic minimally invasive surgery. Dr. Orady completed her Bachelor of Science (BS) at McMaster University and Doctor of Medicine (MD) at the University of Western Ontario in 2001. She completed her residency in obstetrics and gynecology at Ohio State University and has been board certified since 2007. Trained in robotic surgery in 2008, she has performed over 10,000 procedures, specializing in the management of complex gynecological conditions such as menstrual disorders, fibroids, endometriosis, and more.
Dr. Orady's distinguished career is marked by her previous role as the Chief of Quality and Education in Obstetrics and Gynecology at Tawam Hospital in Al Ain, United Arab Emirates, affiliated with Johns Hopkins Medicine. Before her tenure at Tawam Hospital, she was the Director of Robotic Surgery Education at the Cleveland Clinic Women’s Health Institute, at the Center for Endometriosis and Fibroids, working to advance robotic surgery for benign gynecology.
A passionate educator, Dr. Orady is actively involved in teaching medical students, residents, and fellows. Her leadership extends to her role in the Robotic Special Interest Group at the American Association of Gynecologic Laparoscopists (AAGL) and over 12 years as a board member and former president of the Society of Laparoendoscopic Surgeons (SLS). She has traveled to over 43 countries to teach advanced minimally invasive and robotic surgery.
Known for her thorough diagnostic approach, Dr. Orady conducts all her ultrasounds in-office to detect conditions often missed by standard methods. In addition, Dr. Orady's surgical precision is exemplified in her management of endometriosis excisions and other fertility-preserving procedures like myomectomy and ovarian cystectomy. She employs meticulous techniques to enhance or preserve fertility, emphasizing the importance of preventing adhesions. Her approach has resulted in a remarkably low incidence of adhesions and high rates of successful pregnancies in her patients.
