Amanda Schamper is a registered nurse with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing and is also a Board-Certified Medical Affairs Specialist. She joined Baxter Healthcare in 2020 and works as a Sr. Principal Medical Science Liaison within US Advanced Surgery Medical Affairs. Amanda regularly provides education, medical information, and clinical research support for healthcare providers, medical support staff, and patients.
Amanda has a demonstrated history of supporting and educating patients and healthcare providers. She has a strong background in orthopedics and neurology where she served in her early career, caring, educating, and comforting her patients and their families. As a Clinical Science Manager for PolarityTE, Amanda provided training and follow-up care support for bioregenerative tissue technology to physicians and medical support staff while also writing case abstracts and study reports. Additionally, with eSight Corporation as a Clinical Field Specialist, Amanda worked to educate and demonstrate the use of high-tech visual assistive eyewear to improve and restore sight for the legally blind.
Notably, Amanda is a member of the Association of periOperative Registered Nurses (AORN), the Society for the Advancement of Patient Blood Management (SABM), and the Medical Affairs Professional Society (MAPS).
Amanda, a bone marrow stem cell transplant/leukemia survivor, also worked as a Donor Recruitment Coordinator/Patient Focus Manager for the non-profit organization that found her allogeneic stem cell donor with registering over 14,500 bone marrow donors to the national registry. She was invited to speak at their 5th Annual Gala where she had met the bone marrow donor, that saved her life, in-person for the first time.
